The course’s objective is to start building awareness by the students about interactions existing in a group of persons, like in organisation of meetings, decision-making processes, negotiations or conflict resolutions. The course has a “learning by doing” approach, from a base of theoretical references.

In order to implement and experiment group dynamics, with the agreement of the Rectorate, a major part of the course is an interactive mix of theoretical concepts and practical implementations, centred on the observation and experimentation of group dynamics within already existing Interdisciplinary Projects, that students were previously assigned to, in the frame of other courses.

Making the students aware of individual and team behaviours, should allow the different team members, individually and collectively, to become increasingly proactive and responsible in achieving the team’s objectives.

That awareness will allow them increased autonomy for better performance of the overall group.

The approach is managerial more than a sociological or psychological approach.

The student is not evaluated on his/her cognitive knowledge of the course content, but more on his/her ability to make the necessary step back, observe and analyse the interaction within the team, and potentially the improvements and minor changes to be tried and experimented in the view of improved team performance.
